Creating freedom through structured spaces
inside: full moon energy, structures and systems for the season

May’s Full Moon
May 12 is the new moon for the month and it comes with energies that can feel a little extra intense. Has something been developing that needs your attention? Or something current that needs a little extra love so you can move ahead?
What structures can you put in place for your day to day current situation to create space for a new goal?
![]() runner ducks in a row | This is the time to ensure all of your ducks are in a row before letting them out into the world or letting them settle for a bit while you shift focus to the growth that comes with the building spring. I know a few new exciting opportunities are popping up seemingly serendipitously in my world at the moment. Tend to your new gems, options and growth, and your carefully crafted cornerstones of life, work and wellness. This full moon view the landscape you have built - your matrix - through your values and consider what elements are ready to release or rest for a moment so that you can take a step forward. |
If you are interested in a little more, energetically, I’ll share group distance Reiki on the evening of May 12, as always, for your highest good and with full moon “final release to open space to create” intentions. Simply be open to receive!
When the words strike
With my shift to newsletters, and my shift away from a few social media platforms, I’m bumbling around in new spaces and places to see what else is out there in the world. While I’m rediscovering what my WordPress website can do, writing this newsletter and still considering if SubStack’s community can live up to its features, I’ve also joined a Discord.
I’ve caught up in same spaces as Jonathan around internet since early blogging days and I love his writings. Here, he is setting up a space. For writers. To be, to write. Simply that. And he’s inviting everyone. Come hang out!
What if the simple structure of a shared space boosted your writing vibe?
A social internet experiment is under way on Discord, called "The Midnight Writing Club".
If you often find yourself writing alone in the dead of night, wondering if others are doing the same - The Midnight Writing Club was created for you. You might describe it as a place you can be present without being present. A place with little or no requirements or expectations - where you can hang out while writing, and share as little or as much as you want about yourself, what you write, how you write, why you like writing, what you find challenging about writing, and everything in-between.
You can join voice and webcam chats with other writers - you can even share the app you write in - or find a comfy seat in the "quiet corner", where you can be seen but not interrupted.
TLDR - it's a community of writers, for writers. Nothing more, nothing less.
Why not check it out?
Freedom in a little structure
There are a set of tools on the internet that I always love sharing: Liberating Structures
The amazing little tools provide instructions for working with teams - and I would argue, working with yourself - through issues, processes and strategizing. From the Liberating Structures site1 :
Liberating Structures start with something so simple and essential as not to seem worth doing and end with something so powerful and profound that it hardly seems possible.
Whether you are working through some intense full moon energies, bright new opportunities, settling your current systems or planning out your next writing arc, try on a Min Specs to get to the heart of what you need or be a little contrarian with a TRIZ activity.
Bringing in a structure to guide your thoughts can let your mind roam more freely, knowing the path ahead is taken care of.
1 I have no affiliation with Liberating Structures. I just really love them!
